A Hypermedia Research Unit Seminar will take place on Wed 28 Jan at 13.30 in J304
Andreas Vlachidis will give an overview of the GATE Natural Language Processing toolkit and present recent results using GATE for automatic Information Extraction from archaeological excavation reports. This forms part of the research conducted for the AHRC funded STAR (Semantic Tools for Archaeological Resources) project.
There will also be a presentation from Renato Souza on his research into automatic indexing of noun phrases.
Renato has just arrived from Brazil. He has been awarded a postdoctoral fellowship for 1 year to visit and work with the Hypermedia Research Unit on STAR related research. Renato is an Adjunct Professor at University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
